Ty Gibson and Michael Nixon are launching Against the Wall on September 18, 2017. ATW is a movement advocating for racial justice and reconciliation within the Adventist denomination as well as in broader society.

Ty Gibson is Co-director of Light Bearers and pastor of Storyline Adventist Church in Eugene, Oregon. Ty teaches on a variety of topics, emphasizing God’s unfailing love as the central theme of the Bible. He has authored eight best-selling books, including, A God Named Desire, which paints a compelling picture of God’s character. Ty and his wife Sue have three adult children and two grandsons.

Michael Nixon is the Vice President for Diversity & Inclusion at Andrews University. Prior to this work, Michael served as the Legal Coordinator for the Fair Housing Justice Center in New York City. He has a law degree from the John Marshall Law School (JMLS) in Chicago, Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. During law school, Michael worked as a Civil Rights Law Clerk at the JMLS Fair Housing Legal Clinic. Michael loves to communicate, and he strives to do so through writing, blogging, and hosting the Ingredients podcast. Michael and his wife Tacyana have a little girl, Noa Elise.
