This episode features Patty Prasada-Rao, who joins co-hosts Nathan Brown, Lisa Diller, and Jeff Boyd. Patty was born to Indian parents in the U.S. with an extended family network, which instilled in her a strong value for community and what it means to belong together. She has worked with non-profits for over 20 years both in the US and overseas, primarily in community development with the ministries of New Song in Sandtown (West Baltimore) and served as COO for the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) in Chicago. In addition to her public health and research background, she has worked in corporate marketing, psychiatric program management and as an area director/campus staff for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Patty has served on numerous community development boards both domestically and internationally, including CCDA, Intersection of Change (Baltimore), Kupenda for the Children (Kenya) and PRIA Ministries (India). She graduated with a BA in Psychology/Pre-med from The Johns Hopkins University and an MPH in Health Education/Community Development from the University of North Carolina.
